Overview
In this article, we will explain how to get started with Minecraft Hosting from Slashy Hosting. There will be two sections with this article: Budget Hosting and Premium Hosting. You can find the difference between the two below.

Budget vs Premium Minecraft Hosting
There are some differences between our Budget and Premium Minecraft hosting. Generally speaking, you will get much better performance with Premium hosting, however Budget hosting is more affordable. The extras that you get with Premium hosting are:

Better CPU (Consult our About page to see the CPU's https://slashy.host/about)
Better Uplink (250mbps vs 500mbps)
Better Storage (SSD vs NVMe)
One-Click Modpack Installs
Pre-Made Server Setups
Free Dedicated IP*
Priority Support (Extreme Support Plan - Includes many benefits)

Once you have selected if you would like a Budget or Premium server, you can proceed to the next section based on your decision.

Budget Minecraft Hosting

Purchasing
You can find a list of our Budget Minecraft Hosting packages on our website here: https://slashy.host/minecraft, you can then select a plan based on what you require. Once you have selected a plan, you will be taken to a configuration page where you can configure your package. Below you can find a list of all options:

Billing Period - How many months you want to purchase in advance, you can then renew after this period.

Due to payment transaction fees, you can only purchase from Quarterly upwards with our Gravel plan
Dedicated IP - If you are planning on using a custom domain (e.g play.example.com), this is a good idea to ensure that you own the 25565 port.
Server Location - Where you would like your server to be hosted
Modpack - If you would like a modpack pre-installed, you can select from our list of supported modpacks.
Server Name - This will be the name displayed on your server control panel.
Server Setups - You can purchase a pre-made server setup (Currently we only offer Factions or a Hub setup)
Support Packet - If you would like additional support, we offer a list of additional perks with each support packet. By default you will receive the creator plan

Once you have completed your selection, you can proceed to the checkout and purchase your server using one of our payment methods (PayPal, Stripe (Credit/Debit Card) or Bitcoin).

You can now proceed to the next section - Accessing your server

Accessing your new server
After you have placed your order, you should receive your service within 10 minutes. If you do not receive your service, please open a support ticket so we can take a look into the issue for you.

You should receive your credentials via email, if they do not arrive in your Inbox - Please check your Junk/Spam folder, as sometimes they can end up here. Your email should contain your login credentials to our Minecraft Panel (https://mc.slashy.host).

Your Billing Area credentials are different to your Minecraft Control Panel credentials.

Once you are logged in to the panel, you should now see your new server in your server list. You can now select your server from the list, which will take you to the control panel for that specific server. We recommend you stop your server so you can configure it to your needs beforehand. By default, your server will be installed with the latest version of PaperSpigot, if you would like to change this - You will likely need to delete all of your server files before selecting a new version from the JAR selector. You can delete the files via your FTP File Manager shown on the sidebar of your control panel. After you have deleted your server files and selected your desired server version, you can proceed to starting your server, and new files will generate for that version. You should shortly see a green circle appear next to your server name, and then you can proceed to connecting to your server.

To connect to your server, click "Copy IP" on your Server Control Panel. This will copy your IP and port of your server so that you can paste it into Minecraft and join your new server. If you have any troubles with this, please contact our dedicated support team.

Conclusion
There we have it! You have purchased and setup your brand new Minecraft Server. We hope that you enjoy your new server, and continue to explore the endless possibilities with Minecraft. If you need assistance with any part of the server process, we are happy to assist you. Below you can find some more related articles that you may find helpful
