In this article, we will explain how to get started with your new VPS Hosting plan.

Purchasing VPS Hosting

Ordering a new VPS from Slashy Hosting could never be easier with our modern and easy to use checkout. Once you select a plan from, you will have some options before checking out.

Billing Cycle - You can select how many long you want your subscription to be. At the end of the cycle you can renew your plan.
Operating System - You can select from a list of our Linux Operating Systems or our Windows Range
Hostname - This will be the hostname of your VPS.

Hostnames must have no special characters, and no spaces.

You can also select 2 optional add-ons if they apply to you.
Advanced Linux Support - This will give you advanced support via Discord or Support Ticket with issues that you encounter with your VPS.
Software Installation - If you need a piece of software installed such as Pterodactyl or Multicraft, we can do this for you with this add-on.

Once you have made your selections, you can proceed to checkout and pay using one of our three payment methods: PayPal, Stripe (Credit/Debit Card) or Bitcoin.

Once you have placed an order, it can take up to 10 minutes to activate. If you do not receive your VPS within 30 minutes, please contact our Support Team

Initial Setup

Locating your credentials
After you have placed your order, you should receive an email with the login to your VPS Dashboard (, and the root credentials to access your server. If you cannot find this email, please check your Junk folder. After you have logged in to your VPS Panel, you should see your new server, and you can copy the IP Address of your server.

Linux VPS Hosting (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
If you have setup a Linux operating system on your VPS, you can use the root password sent to you via email and the IP address of your server to connect via SSH. We have created a dedicated article on how to connect to your server using SSH - This process will not work for Windows VPS Hosting

Windows VPS Hosting (Server 2016 Edition, Server 2019 Edition)
If you have created your VPS with a Windows Operating System, you can connect to your server using VNC. On your VPS Panel you should see a VNC button on your VPS Information Page. Once you select this, you will have an option to connect via Java or your web browser. Once you have connected, you should see Windows load and it will prompt you for a password, this is the root password sent to you via email when your VPS was created. From here, you can make edits to your VPS.
