In this article, we will explain how to get started with your new Website Hosting plan.

Purchasing Website Hosting
When you're purchasing a Website Hosting package, you will need to enter your Domain Name. Slashy Hosting does not provide Domain Names at this current time, therefore you will need to purchase one beforehand from a provider such as Namecheap or GoDaddy.

Once you have entered your domain name, you can proceed to the next stage of the checkout where you select the add-ons that you require and the billing period. Below you can see a list of the selections available

Billing Period - This is how long you want to purchase the hosting for. After the time is up, you can choose to renew or cancel the hosting service.
Database Migration - If you currently have a website hosted with another provider, we can migrate your Database to our hosting service with this add-on.
Website Migration - Just like above, we can transfer your database as well as your website files from another host to our service.
Software Install - If you would like a piece of software installed such as Xenforo or WHMCS, we can do this for you with this add-on
Advanced Coding Support - We have a team of developers on hand to assist with minor coding errors in PHP, HTML, CSS or JavaScript.
Website Development - If you require a website to be created, we have developers that can do this for you. This requires a ticket to be opened for a custom quote.

After you have selected your options, you can proceed to the next stage which is entering a promotion code, and confirming your order. Once you confirm your order, you will need to either create an account or log into an existing account. You can currently pay using 3 payment methods: PayPal, Stripe (Debit/Credit Card) or Bitcoin. Once an order has been placed, it can take up to 10 minutes to activate. If you have not received your new login credentials after 30 minutes, please open a Support Ticket, as this may need to be manually fixed.

Initial Setup

Linking domain name
After placing an order, our system will create the necessary DNS records to link your domain name, however you will need to add our nameservers to your domain to ensure that the domain can communicate with our servers. Each provider has a different way of doing this, however generally you should see an option to edit your nameservers in your DNS settings of your domain where you can enter our 2 nameservers:

Please Note: It can take up to 48 hours for your domain to propagate and to link with your server. However, in most cases this time is more like 1-2 hours.

Adding files
Once your domain has been linked, you can now start to add files to your Website Hosting plan. To do this, you can navigate to your File Manager in your cPanel account. You can access your File Manager directly from your Billing Panel by selecting your service, then clicking "File Manager".

Once you are in your file manager, you will need to upload your files to the public_html directory. Changes in here should be instant, unless if your browser caches past changes.
